Bobotie

Babotie has its origins in the Indonesian dish Bobotok, and was adopted by the Cape Malay community. It’s a mildly spiced sweet and savory beef mince dish baked with savory custard on top and served with yellow rice. It’s also made with raisins and sultanas, and less spicy versions are made by traditionally by the Afrikaans community. Jonkerhuis serves a perennially popular version.
